I love this so much and it feels right on time. I'm launching a Substack in January and it's called the extremely related "How to Show Up" -- here for trying in public together :)

Here for all of this, Lexi ๐Ÿ’ and to answer your question: Iโ€™m here because words are the only thing that have ever made sense to me and I needed to put them in a home where everyone can see them or else theyโ€™d drive me crazy. Substack has been the most fulfilling journey Iโ€™ve committed to as a writer, and I cannot wait to see where it takes you as well ๐Ÿฅน

"The truth is, I'm simply here to experiment." I really appreciate this as someone who is also a marketer which pays my bills, but a writer in my heart! The one question for me though has been the issue of needing to have a "writer brand" because the honest truth is I am always growing new interests as a writer from non fiction to fiction to different themes. Otherwise I would be terribly bored! But this has caused so much fear in me because I witness so many people stick to a certain brand.

I just published a whole piece called "The Gollum" about how I have hoarded my writing because I have been so worried about it not being perfect or not fitting into this idea of a writer brand. I am slowly working my way out of this and finding acceptance that me the writer is the centre of my Substack and my writing will just be a surprise!๐Ÿ˜„

This post is a beautiful example of the smart intuition and thoughtful methodology that you bring to all things. And you already know my feelings on prioritizing self-expression: only good things to come. So happy you're here!โฃ๏ธ
