Love this piece. Such great insight into ADHD (which my hubby has). As I read this, it also felt like a well thought out argument for compassion, experimentation, and lightly structured out of the box thinking. And I TOTALLY share your vision for a garden office! I sit outside to work whenever I can. See you at Big Paper Planning Day!
Discovering other female business owners with ADHD is great.
Discovering other female business owners with ADHD who are actually succeeding gives me hope.
There have been moments lately where I’ve questioned if I’ve actually got what it takes (mentally reminding myself this was right before my period) but your words have just spoken to that part of me that often feels like a failure for the ways in which my brain works.
<3 Thank you Natalia! That pre-period spiral is so real, I can honestly say I experience it every month. Tbh I think self-employment is an accommodation for so many of us — can’t tell you how many times I’ve called out of work or class or school or whatever and then beat myself up about it. To be able to manage my own schedule feels like the bare minimum I need in order to feel safe and secure. Appreciate this note and you reading so much.

Thank you for proving it can be done :)

I completely agree with your view on self-employment as a bare minimum need to support ourselves.
Personally I’ve also noticed I have to be mindful to not use it as a great excuse to stay too comfy. It’s a balancing act all the time!
