I’ve picked up the habit of writing not from the Artist’s way, but got this habit transformed by it, and I think it’s one of the only reason why I still write today. Though I struggle doing it everyday, because it can take a little bit of time and tend to reach out to my notebook only when feeling stuck, the structure it gave made it accessible. And believe it or not there is something happening in page 3, because I’ve been feeling it too!! You just made me realize I do : because I always feel spiraling negatively when I write it’s even more noticeable. When I finish writing I’m energized and ready to go back, I’ve either found ways to solve my problems or simply created a new energy in myself to go get whatever it is I want. This make me think I need to get back to daily pages, it might hold something !!

I loved reading this! I always love hearing about the ways other artists work and their personal practices. For months, I've been trying to start the habit of doing my morning pages/dream journalling (partly because i really want to learn how to lucid dream) first thing in the morning and even keep the notebook under my pillow so it's right there. But for some reason, there's still some resistance there.

But reading this made me feel so much more inspired to give it another try 💜

Wow, this is such a beautiful way to express yourself, be honest with yourself, validate your feelings and thoughts, and at the same time help yourself put them into perspective. A wonderful way of both-and; you can feel insecure and have insecure thoughts and it might not be necessary.

This way, you are being so kind to yourself, and I can imagine that it helps you start your day in a much better way because you've given space to what’s truly going on while also guiding yourself through it—almost like a loving mother or coach—offering ideas or tips on how to handle it.

I enjoyed reading this! You put my feelings and thoughts about morning pages into words. I’m currently on week 7 and I’m surprised that I’ve stayed committed to it especially on my own and being a new stay at home mom! I am proud to say (kinda weird to be proud but I am embracing this self love journey) that I’ve made morning pages a habit since the beginning of January 4. It’s been the only habit I’ve successfully integrated in my life and constant when everything brings me anxiety and is out of my control. I can totally tell when I haven’t done it and always get it done by the end of the day even if it’s almost midnight haha. Your writing has encouraged me to keep going! So happy it’s been so impactful for you! Sounds like you’re doing AMAZING! Sending you love!

Ahhh thank you Jemy for this! I’m so glad it resonated with you. I feel exactly the same, as you can probably tell — absolutely the most transformational choice I’ve made for my creativity/business/life. Congrats on building the habit, that’s incredible! Thank you for reading!

These are on my Remarkable tablet! I make a new notebook for each season and then store the old ones in an archive

I'm curious are you handwriting your pages on the tablet or typing? I'm such a handwriting fan for free writing, but I can see the benefit of having things typed out. If you handwrite do you like the feel of the tablet and pen over paper and pen?

I started morning pages last year after struggling with loneliness and isolation. And yes-exactly what you said. It makes me a much more grounded and emotional regulated person 💜
