my go-to drink: black coffee. not an espresso, not a latte, a simple black, filtered coffee.
my favourite pen: the Gel Ink Ballpoint Pen Knock Type 0.3mm
what I secretly want to do all day?: read dramione fanfiction (they are top-tier, I swear!)
where can you help?: hummm... I have a newsletter that's constantly growing, but it's in Portuguese (I'm Brazilian!), and I've been meaning to start one in English. I live in Canada, and I want to speak more about recreating your life from scratch as a 30-something in a new country. should I do it under the same account? start another one from scratch? does it actually make a difference it it's different accounts?
YES DRAMIONE FANFICTION! I’m on the train reading one right now! It’s the best for Pride & Prejudice fans 🤍
That’s an interesting question about having a newsletter in two languages — one of the drawbacks of Substack is definitely the lack of segmentation. If we were on a traditional email marketing tool I might recommend you create two separate forms and let people “opt in” to the language they’d prefer so you could tag them internally. Here on Substack I’ve definitely seen writers start a second publication to focus on a new audience or topic.
I feel like we need to be best friends after reading you're also a dramione fan ahahaha
yeah, I'm still on the fence about that, but I'm thinking about trying to start the EN newsletter in a new account just so I don't get the audience mixed up. I've seen people saying that when you have 2 newsletter people can't choose which one to follow if they come across you on Notes, for example... something to consider!
Gosh Lexi, it feels like I could have written this. I stumbled upon this post while going down a rabbit hole of trying to figure out what the heck I want to do with my life and business and personal brand after 12 years of Being Online. I relate to this so heavily!!! Anyways, can't wait to binge read everything else on your Substack.
- What's your go-to cozy movie? Prisoner of Azkaban, every time.
- What do you drink to “get going” in the morning? Coffee, lots of it.
- What's your favorite pen? Uniball Signo Gel Pen
- What do you secretly want to do all day? Run a bookstore and cafe in an idealized small town in New England.
- Now that you know I market stuff for a living, is there anything I can do to help? Tell me what to do with my life lol jk unless
